Bog plants are also referred to as Marginal Plants. These plants are found along the edges or margins of ponds and water gardens. Bog plants grow in shallow water and prefer wet muck like mud. These bog plants handle winter very well. Tropical bog plants can be grown in any climate, but if you live in the north you will need to bring them in before the first cold spell. Tropical Bog plants will not survive our Ohio winters, you must bring them inside during the cold months.
PLANTING BOG PLANTS, plant these as you would lilies, again making sure that you don't cover the crown of the plant. Care should be taken when removing the plants while planting so you do not tear up the root system. Bog plants should only be in water deep enough to cover the roots.
